At Ariel, operated by Namraks Labs AB., we are committed to safeguarding your privacy. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use our services.
1. Introduction
Ariel is a personal assistant service that synchronizes contacts and calendars and facilitates phone calls and messages using its own number. With your explicit consent, we record and store interactions to enhance service quality and user experience.
This Privacy Policy applies if you reside in the European Union (EU), European Economic Area, UK or Switzerland (“Europe”).
This policy describes how Namraks Labs AB (“Ariel”, “we”, “our”, “us”) processes your personal data when you use our mobile applications, websites, tools, social media or other services and features provided by Ariel from time to time (“Services”).
This privacy policy forms an integral part of the Terms of Service and explains how we handle any personal data that you provide to us or that we collect from you. It also covers the handling of personal data of non-users who have not entered into the Terms of Service.

3. Personal data we collect about you
3.1 Personal data collected when you create a user account on Ariel application or sign up via Ariel website
App user profile information: You register your name and phone number when you create an account on the Ariel application. You can add other optional information to your account such as your photo, gender, email address, a short status message, date of birth and tag.
Subscription information: Ariel offers its features or services for a fee that is payable (“Paid Services”). If You register for a Paid Service, Ariel will collect information about your subscription status such as your order id, invoice id, product purchased, payment status and order status
3.2 Personal data collected through your use of Ariel services
Usage information: When you create an account and start using the Ariel application, we will collect information about your device and how you use Ariel. This includes information on usage patterns (such as features accessed, usage duration, and interaction with other users or external services), search activity and diagnostic data (such as crashes and bugs). This also includes device information such as device type, network, and performance details, and online identifiers, such as IP addresses.
Approximate location: General location of users that include country, region or state. We learn this from technical data (e.g. IP address, language setting of your device or phone number). We need this to meet geographic requirements such as displaying the relevant privacy policy, and delivering location specific Services.
Message data: Messages sent to and from Ariel are stored securely on our database. Message data is used to personalize your experience and give you personalized insights.
Call data: If you use our Services to make and receive calls, we collect information about the calls. Such as call recordings, transcripts and length and metadata for the purposes of personalizing you experience and giving you personal insights.
Service-specific personal data: To the extent that you sign up for and/or use a Paid Service, such as Ariel Assistant lite and or Ariel Assistant basic, we process information such as voice, call recordings, transcripts, and segments of calls, together with usage data from these services. We also collect your contact phone numbers to provide you a better service. We will always let you know beforehand within the app what data we will collect and why, leaving it up to you to decide what you share. We also collect information from your calendar with your consent to be able to provide personalised services.
Please note that when using the Ariel to handle incoming or outgoing calls, we act as a data processor for the collection and storing of the audio recordings and transcriptions thereof. You are solely responsible for ensuring that the other parties on the call are promptly informed about the recordings, reasons for such recordings and where necessary receive consent for such recordings, in accordance with national laws.
3.3 Additional data you can choose to provide us with
Customer support and other communications: When you contact us for customer support or otherwise communicate with us, you can provide us with information related to your use of our Services, including copies of your messages, any other information you deem helpful, and how to contact you. In that case, we will use the information you have provided to respond to and resolve issues. If you use our call-related services, we may record and transcribe calls using AI and other automated means to enhance service delivery. We encourage you to limit the personal data included in all communications and ask that you never send or share sensitive data with us.
We can also contact you for verification purposes or with information pertaining to the Services or special offers, e.g. newsletter, emails, SMS and similar notifications about our products and services depending on your choices
Data collected by Ariel will never be sold or distributed to third parties.
4. Our purposes and legal basis for processing of your personal data
We have provided a comprehensive list below to give you a clear overview of the categories of personal data we process, the purposes of processing, the legal basis for these activities, and the retention periods.
a. To create and manage your Ariel account
Including processing for the purposes of:

Verifying your phone number by sending you a verification code via SMS or by performing an automated missed call (no need to pick up)

Checking if you already have a Ariel account or a phone number that is banned from Ariel

Saving your choices such as the Terms of Service you accepted or your privacy settings

j. Training artificial intelligence
If you explicitly consent, we use segments of raw or partially processed audio and associated transcriptions to use as training data to automatically train our proprietary artificial intelligence (AI) technology, analytics and development purposes of our products. We will take efforts to anonymise such data before processing.

6. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share your data with:
• Third-Party Service Providers: We may share your information with third-party providers for services such as cloud storage, data analytics, and customer support. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only as instructed by us.
• Legal Obligations: Authorities or other entities when required by law or to protect our rights.
7. Data Storage and Retention
Your data is stored securely on servers located in the United States. We retain your personal data for as long as you maintain an account with Ariel. Communication recordings are stored for up to 12 months unless a longer retention period is required by law. After this period, data is either deleted or anonymized.
8. Data Security
We protect your data using industry-standard encryption protocols during transmission and at rest. Access to your personal information is restricted to authorized personnel who require it to perform their job functions. We implement measures such as two-factor authentication and regular security audits to safeguard your information.
9. Your Rights
You have the right to:

10. International Data Transfers
If your personal data is transferred to a country outside Europe, we will take the necessary measures in order to transfer the personal data legally by ensuring that your personal data is processed securely and with an adequate level of protection that is comparable with the protection offered within Europe.
To ensure that each data transfer outside Europe complies with applicable EU law, we use the following legal mechanisms:

We use the Standard Contractual Clauses adopted by the European Commission as a legal mechanism for the international transfer of data to a third party located in a country outside of Europe. According to these clauses, the other party must protect your data and give you rights and protections at EU level.

Ariel Assistant basically uses automated algorithms to personalize your experience, such as suggesting contacts, scheduling events and making calls and messages. These processes are designed to enhance functionality and are regularly tested to ensure fairness and accuracy.

We use cookies and similar technologies to enhance your experience, analyze usage, and provide personalized content. You can control the use of cookies through your browser settings.
13. Children’s Privacy
Our Services are not directed at children under the relevant age of consent under the laws of their respective jurisdictions. In this respect, we do not intentionally or knowingly collect or process information from children or allow such persons to register for our Services.
If we become aware that we have collected personal data about a child under the applicable age limit, we will take reasonable steps to delete the personal data. We are constantly working to improve our Services. This may involve modifications of our handling of personal data (e.g. we may collect data for new purposes or collect additional data).
